- How do you care for your palm?
Palm trees generally grow in full sun, but can tolerate some shade. Water newly planted trees deeply twice a week until they are established (2 to 3 months). Palm trees are drought tolerant once they are established and rarely need watering.
- Not a true palm, but a member of the Lilaceae family, the Ponytail Palm is hardy and easy to maintain and keep healthy. It is slow growing and takes many years for a Ponytail Palm to reach its maximum average height. Extremely drought tolerant, these plants can store water in their bases for up to a year. Ponytail Palms may be kept indoors in pots near a sunny window or in the landscape. It is one of the easiest palms to grow but care must be taken not to overwater especially indoors.
